I would recommend this item to a friend! This review is from AKiTiO Node Titan Thunderbolt 3 eGPU Enclosure + AMD Radeon RX 580 Graphics Card Bundle. I'm very pleased so far with this purchase. It was a plug and play setup and I had it up and running in about 10 mins. It did seem large at first but upon consideration, I understand that room provides future upgradability. Performance is good.many times the graphics abilities built into my Mini. This was only apparent to me because I'm using it with a silent Mac Mini. The eGPU enclosure has a built-in power supply so only a standard 3-prong power cable connects the unit to power (no external large power brick.) The unit is near-silent at idle but there is a little fan hum if you listen closely.

The AKiTiO enclosure is extremely well built and provides both the power and cooling requirements for a more powerful graphics card upgrade at a later date if needed. The card must be inserted in the eGPU enclosure which is a simple plugin that requires no tools. While both units are shipped together they are in their own individual packaging. The good part is I am getting 60fps in World of Warcraft. External graphics card adapter or external GPU enclosure is an ever-developing solution for laptop users who need more power (than integrated graphics) for gaming, AR/VR development, AI/machine learning, and many other high demand computing tasks. Today we all know that it is possible to use a graphics card from a desktop PC in a laptop using external GPU cases with a Thunderbolt connection, but what if we want to do it the other way around. My unit is connected to a Mac mini which I do power off and I didn't want the eGPU on 24/7. The power switch is a tad confusing, in that obviously it needs to be on for the unit to work, but you also have to turn it off when you turn off the connected computer, or the fans in the eGPU run constantly. With one set, the fans on my GPU would never turn on, with the other, the fans worked fine. One set worked and the other did not, no clue why.
The only thing that caused me pause was the additional power cables there are 2 sets of cables: two 2 prong and two 4 prong, for a 6 prong plug on the GPU.

Fortunately it is really easy to install a GPU in this device. The instructions are almost completely useless. The included TB3 cable is pretty short so this also limits where you put the unit. I was going to put it on my desk but ended up putting it on the floor under my desk which works fine. Not really a problem, but it's huge: maybe 12 inches long, 10 inches high and about 6 inched wide. Rating: 4/5 My first eGPU DecemSeems to be a good product with a couple issues.
